Mr Moderator, dear Colleagues,

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Hasanboy Burhanov, founder of the political opposition movement Erkin O’zbekiston

History should not be forgotten or rewritten!

Every statement coming out from the officials must be backed by the facts and evidence.

On April 24 this year, President Joe Biden issued an official statement of recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

Our movement does not agree with this assessment by Mr Biden.

This is because the issue has not yet been resolved, and the genoside has not yet been proven in court. On behalf of the “Erkin O’zbekiston” opposition movement, I officially declare: we do not recognize the so called genocide of the Armenians!

It is up to the relevant legal institutions to determine the fact of the genocide of Armenians. To date, this has not been done. Moreover, the Turkish authorities are willing to open the archives for a joint study of the tragic events of 1915.

The opposition Erkin O’zbekiston movement recommends:

The OSCE ODIHR should form a commission to jointly study the tragic events of 1915, together with the Turkish authorities;

To make a comprehensive study of the tragic events that took place in 1918-1919, in the Uzbek states, when communists and the Armenian terrorist groups of “Dashnaktsutyun” killed more than a million civilians;

The representative of Armenia interrupts the speaker’s speech…

Mr. Burhanov continues: Mr Moderator, I would like to remind you of my guaranteed right to freedom of expression and information, as set out in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights.
