Mirziyaev’s cowardly regime reveals its true face – yet again

13.10.2022 admin

On 12 October 2022, the UN General Assembly condemned Russia’s “attempted illegal annexation” of four partially occupied regions of Ukraine and called on all countries not to recognise the move.

143 countries supported the resolution, which also reaffirmed Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.

Russia, Syria, Nicaragua, North Korea and Belarus voted against the resolution.

Uzbekistan, among 35 countries, abstained in the vote. 10 countries did not take part in the vote.

The UNGA resolution “condemns the Russian Federation’s organisation of so-called referendums within Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders” and the “attempted illegal annexation” of four regions announced last month by Russian President Putin.

Attending the international conference of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe from 26 September to 7 October 2022 in the Polish capital Warsaw, the political opposition movement Erkin O’zbekiston made the following statement:

“We do not recognise and condemn the annexation of Ukrainian territories by the Putin regime!

We stand for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders!

We strongly condemn Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine!

We do not and will never recognize the so-called referendums and their consequences organized by the Putin regime in the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine!”.

Unlike the cowardly Shavkat Mirziyaev regime, the political opposition movement Erkin O’zbekiston has a clear and principled position on Russian aggression in Ukraine.
